I wnt to move the Main Toolbar into the area where the tab buttons are for objects and what else is there. Everytime i try to drag it up there nothing happens. I see in the VTM tutorial at 3dbuzz that the instructor has the Main Toolbar in the tabbed area. How do i do this? Thanks!

In the VTM buzz version they must be using a eariler version of Max, when it was part of the tab toolbar, Not sure if you can put it abck now though :x

These are all unknowledgable people :p (this wasn't edited by Stone to remove the noobs, even though it wasn't offensive)
right click on the main bar that u want to be in the tabs and there is an option saying dock in tabs or something.

....or just load up a custom UI. discreet-light.ui is a nice one. Customize>Load Custom UI Scheme

Thanks Stone or um....

no i never, i just don't like the term noobs :p

tbh just make your res a lot higher so u don;t have to do the *ANNOYING* draging on the toolbars which just gets so anoying and boring. Also make your primatives to the side because I am lazy and its the main one I use. Not Like I havn't got space anyway :p also get rid of the anoying blue theme on windows XP and use windows classic. Then u will be a pro modeller :p also get an nvidia card instead of radeon when u next upgrade cos they are better for 3dgraphics.

hope this helps :cheese:

i was curious where the "Animation" button was to "Start" animating.

to start animating, arg, follow a tutorial ;) but the basic way is to use the auto key key, to automatically make a key frame, when you change something

Thanks for helping me out guys, one more question tho, How do i change the way of selection, right now i need to outline the whole object to slect it, how do i only make it so i need to only outline part of the object to select it. This would help alot, thanks!

I went thriugh alot of VTM today and they really help and teach!

There is a button on the toolbar that can be toggled for either partial or complete selection.

what a rip! might as well get it on kazaa or just use milkshape

ok, ok, how did you guys pay for this thing??

got given it, by my current course as it is vital to the course..

/me does victory dance.....

try getting it in the way u mention, thats how everyone gets theirs!

and what type of course is this? i might look into it.

im guessing for later though, im only 14.

I'm doing a graphic design course, and really it isnt vital, it's just most of my portfolio consisted of 3d work, so they thought they'd give me a copy.... (well i let them use some of my work for a poster about the course, so it was only fair)

Graphic Design???? your kidding! thats exactly what i want to do, along with atomic sciences or w/e its called.
