4 different ways to buy HL2?

I was watching G4tech TV a few months ago, and on a number of
different shows they said that there is going to be 4 different ways
to buy HL2.

1.Half Life 2 single player only.
2.Half Life 2 single player with multiplayer support.
3. Half Life 2 single player with multiplayer and mod support.
4. Download Half Life 2 with both multiplayer and mod support over Steam and pay a $10 a month fee. "but you get all the expantions for free"

Is it true!!??

I somehow doubt that Vavle is going to make only 1 version "mods only".
At least, that would be a SERIOUS mistake on their part ......

I'm pretty dure there's no multiplayer without mod support. Currently it seems like this:

SP
SP+MP+Mods
Collector's Edition.
Normal SP+MP+Mods Steam download
Possibly a Steam collector's edition.

In the Steam world, some people will want to buy it once, like the middle SKU above. Other people will want to buy the game on subscription (e.g. $9.95/month). The good news for the "buy it once" crowd is, well, they only have to pay once. The bad news is that when we come out with new content (expansion products, TF 2, and presumably other games) then they have to pay separately for those. We're pretty sure that the $9.95 guys are going to get the better value, as we've been pretty good over the years at generating a lot of content.

Basically, the subscription crowd gets Half-Life 2, and any future Valve games/content as long as they continue the subscription. I think.

What I'd like to know is how much will the Collector's Edition be and if it's, as some people have suggested, £60-80 how will that be justified?
It'd better be something bloody special.
