4 yr old borrows car to rent a videogame

I'd be impressed maybe if he was driving a manual.

Games are simutaneously a kid's greatest motivation and greatest reason not to do anything at all.

He's pretty smart, he had to find the correct key to open the door, find the ignition, and then he had to remember the way to the video shop without crashing.

That's cute. A little irresponsible on the parents' part, but cute.

that boy has skills, pretty hard to believe though. what kind of parents lets their 4 year be awake at 4 am let alone give them the oppourtunity to steal their car :/

how did he reach the pedals. For some reason I dont believe this

EDIT: I didn't actually read the article which explains how he drove. I still dont believe it though.

What 4 year old plays video games!?
Seriously. Should 4-year-olds be out playing in the sand with their Tonka trucks? Kids shouldn't be playing video games that young.

we can just hope that they (had the video game store been open) wouldn't have let him rent an M rated game :p

I hope you we're agreeing with me there..

yeah that kid shud jus play with toy cars or something.
not a real one, LOL.

this was on gmtv. I guess the kid didnt know any better.

Man, that kid's uber. Maybe we should lower the driving age?

We all need to get together and send that kid a free copy of HL2.

Awesome.

Damn straight I am. In my opinion, a kid shouldn't have video games until he/she can work for the money to pay for it themselves.

I say you let kids play video games once you've taught them right from wrong, and once they are mature enough to realize that what happens in videogames, stays in videogames. Hell, my 10 year old sister plays Halo 2 and Counter-Strike Source (albeit not very successfully :p) and the only problem she's got is the sheer power of irritation.

[addition] I started playing games at the tender age of eight or something, and I turned out fine. Good ol' Super Mario and Star Fox. And Bloody Rage (possibly the wrong name), some gory fighting game that pit hideous monsters and dinosaurs against each other in a fight to the death. Includes special finishing moves, like ripping your opponent's heart out and devouring it!

So the kid is clever enough to drive a car, but doesn't realise that the video store is closed at 1:30 in the morning.

i tried to run away from home by robbing the car...had the case packed.took the keys at about 7 in the morning and left quietly...then set off the alarm of the car.DOH! oh well...worked out fine in the end

Of course the other argument of this is that video games enhance intelligence. How else would this 4 year old know what he was doing?

Then again...

From the article: said:
He (the officer) then thought that the car had possibly taken off by itself from a nearby gasoline station, without anyone at the controls.

If these cars are able to run on their own, we could call it a kidnapping. :P

I just said that because I've never had any video games that I didn't buy myself and I'm very bitter.

Umm, it was 1:30 AM. And you say it's her fault she was sleeping?

Funny story. I'm surprised he was able to get that far!

Heh, sorry. But you've got games now, so I guess it all works out? :)

Well yeah, and it makes me appreciate them a great deal more.

Don't be surprised to see the anti-video game people use this as evidence. LMAO idiots
