which speakers are better the 7.1 or the 5.1

i am asking this because i see 5.1 speakers that are more expensive...is it because of more watts?

Better quality thats why. = better sound.

The cheap 7.1's are just that "cheap" so they will be less then good.

o okay thanks

i also was looking at some 5.1 speakers

what speakers do u recomend for 5.1?? i was lookin at some speakers like the z-5500 cost:295.99 and the z-680 cost:219.99 at newegg.

o btw i dont have a soundcard :( need to go get one)

well I have a set of z-5500's which im using for my xbox right now, and a set of T-7700.

The z-5500's blow the T-7700 out of the water but it has nothing to do with the fact that one is 5.1 and the other is 7.1.

ya I would have to say those are near equals of the z-5500's howevor I think how load speakers get it so overated. If you dont listen to them that load anyway then its not a feature you should look into. When im using my z-5500's I usually never play them loader then 40%. Usually im around 25-30% and they are plenty load enough. Howevor those gigaworks are great speakers and I would have got then had I not already had the T-7700's.

Well they arent to short for me but. If they are for you I remember reading in the manual that there is an RCA adapter that you can buy to extend the speaker wire.

Ya im keeping this soundcard untill creative launches a decent upgrade. I like the software that comes with it, which makes it really easy to set up the speakers the way you want them. (if you want more sound coming from the rear or the front center channel....) Howevor the drivers do take up a lot of space unless you customize which options you want to install and which ones you dont. I have never tried and games without the soundcard installed so I cant tell you how the FPS is compared to a computer without the audigy. Its a great soundcard though.

i have the logitech z640's 5.1.. they are ****ing amazing. plus if i do recall not to many games/programs utilize 7.1 yet.

PEACE

Mike :naughty:
