5 Police officers fired for beating already unconcious suspect

And you should get a helicopter. This small ass town in bum**** louisiana has a helicopter, so should you. I saw more cars in that video than I see in a week here. They aren't expensive really.

oh krynn, you silly bastard

Anyway, i think the entire situation is pure entertainment. The moment the cop started beating him a big smile formed on my face, I think I even said "NIIIICE!"

I respect the laws that govern our officers, but i also respect a good beating...i'm so conflicted!

I think you need a good beating to clear your mind

I don't blame them for beating him up, as I probably would myself if that guy intentionally tried to kill one of my friends or myself and I had a way to do it.

the difference is that you are a civilian AND you'd probably be charged with assault

However, they are police officers and they should not beat people and they should accept the punishment of losing their jobs by doing so.

it's not that they shouldnt beat people. it's that police brutality is against the law. they could be criminally charged with assault. In this sense they are no better than criminals with a badge. do we really want people engaged in criminality to uphold the law? obviously not because they've been fired thanks to the video. without it they'd probably still have a job. how many police officers havent been caught on video yet? I think the problem is systemic of all police forces around the world.

Though beating him up while he's unconscious is pretty dumb. You want him to feel it, you want him to see your fists and feet coming in!

I dont get it. physical assault is ok as retribution for a crime? should we go back to the days of the galllows, the rack, and the iron maiden (excellent!!!) for criminals?

50 lashes for spitting! cut off hands for theft! gouge out eyes for commiting adultry! stone them to death for immodest dress in public!!!

slippery slope over exaggeration alarmist nonsense but it illustrates my point that physical punishment for crime is something they do in countries where human rights are non existant

Only if I get caught by a dashboard camera. DUH!

I know it's against the law. That's why I said they shouldn't do it.

lol... you're taking my post way too seriously. I understand what they did is wrong, and it's a good thing they got fired for it.

The guy nearly ran that cop over though. I can relate to their desire to throw a few blows in retaliatory fashion. People get hit all the time in this world, and that guy deserved a good punch to the face for what he did. Not the savage unconscious beating he received, but a punch or two will do.

I know you may think of me as a hypocrite on this situation, but I don't care. I think it's fine that guy got a little roughing up for documented attempted murder with his vehicle, and I also think the police officers knew it's against the law and what they uphold so they should expect and deserve to get fired for it.

That's how I feel on in the heat of the moment police brutality. Systemized police brutality especially without cause? Whole other story right there.

Cops were in the wrong, but the victim was a tit. Ad nauseum...

Why's that my response to nearly every one of these videos.

If I were a cop I'd point my car and camera in the opposite direction every time I did something I'd regret. You can just say you didn't want traffic to interfere with the final takedown

Same here.

Either the cops were forgetful due to the heat of the moment, they're retarded, or they didn't feel any regret for what they did and didn't see anything wrong with it (which is scary yet knowing abusive cops possibly true).

RIP George Carlin...:(

The Two Commandments are my favorite.
