No thanks. There are a million quake/doom clones running on an open source engine that doesn't need dosbox to function correctly.

Me too. Quake II's the best FPS in terms of level design, enemy design and weapons design I've played since ever.

The id pack is well worth it, if you've forgiven id for not crediting the DOSBox creators and lack of public apology when this came to light.
