Hey guys I have a 5900 256 MB, Should I get a new 6800? Has anyone else made the change?

Depends on if you have the cash..If you do, then obviously yes..

You would have to worry about your CPU bottlenecking the 6800. Be careful.

[Edit]: which version do you mean? The non-ultra, the GT, or the Ultra?

Instead of the card get a new processor, the AMD 2800 is really cheap.

Looks like you're running a Athlon 2500+. You'd need a new motherboard if you're gonna get a Pentium 4. The 2500+ isn't a bad cpu, maybe you should stick with it, even overclock a little to a 2800+ then get the 6800. The 5900 is a good card, but it won't be good in Half Life 2 and I know it's fast but the FX cards weren't as good. But the 6800 is a great card, it will be worth it.

Oh I thought he had an AMD 1800, nevermind then, get the graphics card.

6800 12 pipeline card for only 300$
If you have the case you can get the full 16pipeline 6800GT or a X800pro for 400$.

can't you flash the 6800 to an Ultra w/16 pipes, (w/ out the ram and such :P)

i would try and tweak your existing setup first, you have stuff similar to mine.
lots of tweaking room!

the 2500+ 1.8 should be able to get to at least 2800/3000 , somewhere around
2.1 -2.2 GHZ like this: 166x12.5 or 13 = 2.083 / 2.158 or even 200x11=2.100 !

the 5900 can be bios flashed to a 5950Ultra, my 5900 runs at 490/975 no problem

if you do both of those and all goes well, you will see a big improvement that dont cost a dime!
