know it's childish but 18-year-old Rory McInnes is my new hero. When the student's parents had builders add a new flat roof onto the top of their ?1million house, Rory, inspired by a documentary on Google Earth, climbed up with a tin of white paint and spent half an hour daubing a 60ft phallus on it.

For the next 12 months, only Rory knew about the humongous appendage, until a helicopter pilot spotted it and snapped some pictures. When The Sun phoned Rory's dad about the painting, he refused to believe it's real, saying: "It's an April Fool's joke, right? There's no way there's a 60ft phallus on top of my house."

When he rang his son, who's in Brazil on a gap year, Rory burst out laughing and said "Oh, you've found it then!"

Having accepted there's a massive penis on his roof, Mr McInnes told the paper: “When Rory gets home he will be given a scrubbing brush and white spirit and he can go and scrub it off.”
