Hi, I've read the recent articles about the 6600 GT and the regular 6800. Which should I get?? I have enough for either. The 6800 has a clock of 350 MHz ( http://www.bfgtech.com/6800OC.html ) 128 megs of ddr1 at 700 MHz, and 12 pixel pipes.

Whereas, the 6600 GT has 128 mb of GDDR3 at 1 ghz, a 500 MHz core but only 8 pixel pipes.

6800 price: $300
6600GT: $200

I need help!! which should I get?

If cost isnt the number one concern then 6800 definetly, but the 6600 gt seems to be no slouch and looking at some benchmarks it seems to be within 10-20 fps of the 6800 in all tests.

I would save up for the 6800GT, I just got it and its f*ckin AMAZING.

The GT obviously. Overclock that sucker just a few megahertz and you'll equal the 6800 easily for much cheaper price.

You can always buy two and run SLI :)

Unless I'm mistaken the 6600GT is a PCI-Express only card. For SLI you need a motherboard with two 16x PCI-Express slots. Besides, the 6800 will give you the best performance for your money.

AGP is still the most popular and perfered slot. It will be more desirable when more systems and cards are available for PCI-Express, probably right before the start of next year will the it become popular to own a PCI-Express system. *cough 'nForce4' cough

I think 6600 gt is coming in AGP later with a PCi to AGP bridge thingamajig
