Hi,
Ive recently noticed that the Geforce 6600 GT AGP has come out and Im wondering which would be better: that or the standard 128 MB 256 bit Radeon 9800 pro? Id assume the 6600 gt but I hadnt seen much review-wise, so I wanted to check.

Only point to a 6600GT would be for a PCI-Express/SLI setup. Having the SLI, two 6600GT are the same price or cheaper than a PCI-Express 6800GT, and having more performance. Along with just getting one, and a second one being a good upgrade. There is no good reason to get the AGP version, I think a 9600 would've been a better choice, save some cash for a future upgrade.

9800pro is a good choice... but you definately could pay under 200 for one.

dang it thats close...the 6600 creams the pro in CS:S but a lot of Nvidia cards did great in CS:S but then lost to the Radeons in the actual Half-life 2. It be nice if they had that up there...

EDIT: Wait screw that I just found this card and Im getting it: http://www.newegg.com/app/Showimage.../14-102-454-07.jpg&CurImage=14-102-454-04.jpg
Its an ALL-IN-WONDER 9800 pro 128mb 256 bit card w/ the TV features (its all retail) AND a HL2 Coupon for only 250$!!!! (yess i didnt get it yet, shame on me)

If you have somewhat of an older computer, make sure you have the power supply for the 6600, thus just adding more cost(Like $70).

6600 GT for the same performance as a 9800 in hl2 and hl2 only

9800 for the same performance in hl2 as 6600 GT

For Doom3-
6600 GT = X800

Source dosent like nVidia, but its worth it for the performance on other games compartivley
