My friend is purchasing a new computer from ibuypower.com. He is not willing to build it so thats out of the question anyway. I looked over his options and he was going to purchase a 9800 AIW for $274 and with this being moreorless a budget computer, I noticed the 6800 LE for $239. Now, my question is, which is better the 6800 LE or the 9800 AIW? Both are AGP 8x and both are 128. Not sure what brand of the card but with the given information which card is better?

Unless you want the AIW features like watching TV on your computer and recording shows and all the video editing stuff, get the 6800LE it's faster. But can't you get a 6800nu (non-ultra non LE non GT just plain 6800) for about as much as that 9800 pro AIW? That one would be worth it because it's still 128mb but has 256-bit memory and 12 pipelines, the 6800LE is 128-bit with 8 pipelines. Get the 6800.

Yes 128/256. All 128 cards are like that nowadays..

So it is only 128.

128 mb??? or are you talking about bandwith? because im talking about bandwidth

Not arguing but just posting some info I found on that newegg.com website: Memory Configuration-700MHz 128MB 256-bit DDR

I got confused, but it still does not matter. I was talking about memory. The memory on the 6800 LE is 128 and obviously the bandwith is 256. All cards nowadays use 256 bandwith.

lol, are you just trying to cover your booty now j/k, that statement is definitely wrong. Look at the 6600 GT, that uses 128-bit memory interface and still is a very good card.
