6800 Ultra SLI on One Card!

that is a very huge card and theres already a sli 6600gt on one by gigabyte so who knows it could be real

I really hope they reduce the size of it...if it is real. That thing might be a little big for microatx cases.Like the antec aria.

Yea I saw that, its ABSOLUTELY HUGE

Imagine the heat from an SLi of an SLi of 6800 Ultras lol. You could probably make your own bakery or something from your case.

its gonna be huge, hot and noisy! whether it will be faster and cheaper than a 6800ultra SLI setup, well we will just have to wait and find out!

considering an ultra requires 2 molex connectors, and even though that thing is pci xpress, you could need 4 molex's just to power this thing.

It needs two PCI-Express graphics power connectors :O

The cooler for that will probably be as big as the card, and v.heavy - i'm guessing the holes on the far right will help secure the cooler (and/or supporting bracket) to the card.

Must be a card for the verging-on-crazy enthusiast, or the worlds richest kings.

OMG the computer industry is seriously going to have to find something new. Like more efficient transistor/electronic OR WHATEVER methods to reduce heat emission, some radical lower voltage breakthrough, or some super efficient heat cooler.

Either way, almost everything is producing considerable amount of heat, and adding something like this will make it incredibly worse.

Cool...but do you think it's really worth it? Like you said..the thing would be huge. Then there's the heat/noise/psu requirements, and to top it all off..the price, which is bound to be huge. I've got a 6800 U right now and I get around 65 fps on high..so I'm just wondering how much of an improvement SLI or that card would really be?

i think its like a 30% increase in preformance but 2 times the heat in ur case and its cheaper to buy 2 6600gts

Well..that and the fact that there are no games out right now that would effectively utilize the dual gpu's. It'll be awhile before it really becomes necessary. Also, by then the price will have gone down. So right now, there's no point in this or SLI. Eventually there will be..but not yet.

These cards are for the true enthusiast... or very rich people.... that want the best and don't care how much they have to pay for it.

SLi has something like a 70% power increase at high resolutions with AA/AF at full, so its useful for large HDTV displays where 3D image quality and size is paramount.

I can also see a few professional games developers having a few of these on order, especially the good people at Epic.
