Didn't even notice that. Should look next time I guess. :\blahblahblah said:They are clocked at a lower speeds.
Foxtrot said:Hmm...how about the x600s? How do they compare to the 9800s? I know they aren't as good but maybe my Dad could just buy one of those and I will keep my 9800.
For the family computer, which my little brother uses. And he also lost the bracket for the card, and whats a video out cable. My little brother wants to be able to play EQ2 on the computer, and it only has a geforce 2 in it now so it will need somthing a bit better.blahblahblah said:I should also note that the default (as determined by Nvidia) for the 6800 is 325/700. So if you find a benchmark of the 6800, you are guaranteed that performance. The higher clocked version will perform faster, I just have no idea how much faster.
The X600s are horrible, they are pretty much the equivalent to the 9600s except they are PCI Express.
What does your Dad need a video card for? Video games or something else?

Foxtrot said:I have the radeon 9800 right now, I bought it about 4 months ago for $200, my dad will pay me $150 for it. Would it be worth buying it?
Sweet, and it runs just fine on the source engine right? I have only seen one comparison chart.bosox188 said:Moving from a 9800 pro to one of the $300 6800's would not be worth it at all. Here's an awesome deal for you:

Incredible that they're selling a GT for only $333, but they are and their is nothing wrong with it, it's a good deal. It's twice as fast as the 9800 pro and is definitely a worthwhile upgrade and it will last you a long time.

Only $10 difference now, and I heard the BFG are over clocked so they run better...bosox188 said:Same thing, except you're paying $70 more. And yes it will run fine on the Source engine. Just because ATi is better in D3D doesn't mean that a 6800GT will suck in D3D games. The 6800's are still awesome and only a little worse than ATi in D3D, same with ATi in OpenGL.
