7 Hours Game/Mod concept art?

Looks like Munro is planning a mod in Source that lets you re-live the "Seven Hour War" when the Combine invaded the Earth.

To me, that looks like two earth-native soldiers about to get suprised by some Ant Lions.

Kick ass idea if it's true.

yea, the earth forces got pwned. I wonder what the real Combine look like. They're not the gas-masked soldiers we see around the city since those are genetically/mechanically modified humans. So who knows how bad ass the Combien alien race are.

What we do know, though, is that Breen surrendered earth to the combine. Nowhere does that state that we were actually losing the fight, even though most people interpret it as so.

Well if you see the newspaper cuttings in Eli's lab, you see that the war lasted 7 hours and that we surrendered.

But think logically, if Earth's forces didn't get owned by the Combine, why would Breen be allowed to surrender to them? Wouldn't the leaders of Earth choose to fight on as long as possible?

When Kleiner's teleport goes wrong, and you appear in Breen's office. For the first time, he goes who the hell you are, some seconds later, you're there again, and he's talking to this thing, saying "I'm sure it was Gordon Freeman". Second time, near the very end of the game when he's talking to that thing about a "host body" and delivering Earth.

from what I've found they dont say how much or how bad the invasion was. They focus on Breem being the one to convince them to "spare us".

That is becuse It's not 7 combine. The combine is an alien race. The troops they use on earth, is either humans, or modified humans
