Lies, damn lies and ...
Averages still don't make a firm basis for saying something takes 6 hours to complete. And look at the graphs: The 'average' only comes out around that number because there is a large spread of people taking a bizarre 6-10 hours to complete. People who ACTUALLY completed in 6 hours are dwarfed by the ammounts of people who took 3.5 to 4.5 hours to finish the game. The largest percentage of people took 4 hours to complete the game. I suspect problems with the stats monitoring.
Thats not even the really worrying statistic for me although its quite bad. Looking at Total Play Time it seems VERY few people played it past a few hours (many probably didnt even finish so wouldnt be counted in the time to completion statistic). Eeven if it takes 3 hours to complete on a fast run if someone plays it twice they are hitting the 6+ hour mark. By those statistics it seems that not many people either played it that long or those that won it didnt play the game through a second time.
I know I did (replayed) for the commentry but I cant see how many people could have based on the low percentages in the "total play time" statistic. Ahh well I still enjoyed it for the commentry but besides that there wasnt a huge incentive to replay it really. Hopefully the more open nature of EP2 will lend itself to replaying more.
