Does anyone else besides me still use the Nvidia 8800gt?

Still use mine, although it's about time for an upgrade. I definitely got my monies worth. The card was a hell of a deal when it first came out.

PNY 8800GT 512MB and I spent around $200 i think for it like 1.5-2 years ago

8800 Ultra ftw.
It's worked like a charm with every game that I've played since I got it (except bizarrely, The Sims 3).

8800GT here! Works fine for everything still (high). Noisy thing but I'll squeeze another year out of it hopefully (or 6 months most likely :p)

same and then maybe I'll save up for a new rig but they're cutting hrs at work and i can at least enjoy my games again!

yep, still use mine as well. Haven't had any issues with it and it's been a great performer for what it cost when I got it.

it was a good card but it got to hot for my taste......Im loving my GTX260 though.

what i really want to do is wait till Quad Core processors are cheaper and just buy a whole nother rig. I think I can manage for while before another upgrade

The 8800gts get very hot, mine would hit usualy 85-95c normally and in some cases would hit 105c. Then I got a thermaltake heatsink and bam atm it's at 39c idle and it maxes at 50c :).

I just got a used XFX8800gts....but it's better than the 8500gt that I have in my current setup....haven't tried it yet though I don't think my PSU is powerful enough...

I never knew it could make that much of a difference. Which one did you get?

I think I killed my last card with heat.

speaking of midrange my uncle got himself a 5770 it also works beautifully.

wuts ur psu? i'd recommend at LEAST 500-600 watts with ...i dunno....20-30 amps on 12V? that sound good to everyone else?

Actually had one and just gave it away to a friend for Christmas. Have to say, money spent vs graphic gain (I had a crap card before though) the 8800gt was my fav card.

Still have mine too, should be good for another year or so. Hopefully I will be able to play Mass Effect 2 with decent effects, on me1 I could set everything on high.

I sill have mine too. I've been using it for almost 4 years now. Very good graphics card, I definitely got my money's worth.

I like to call it "the graphics work horse", it can take anything you throw at it.

I only have 350w and the official requirements list 400w as the minimum...so....

but I'm about to upgrade the whole thing anyway so it's not too much a problem...plus the 8800gts buys me some time to wait for nvidia to get their dx11 cards out...anyone know when that might happen by the way?

I still have my 8800 GT, and it's treating me well. Handled Batman: AA with a breeze.

I've still got my XFX 8800GT 512MB... was a great purchase... well, gift :)

I'm planning on keeping it until the 260s come down to the $150 range. Only thing it has trouble with is GTA 4... and I think that might actually be my crappy processor bottlenecking it.

GeForce 6600. Beat that.

Of course, I have another computer now, but I've still been using that for the past 5 years or so.

It's hard to believe that I used a Pentium 3 with 256MB RAM and 4MB Intel graphics 3 years ago.. Compared to what I have now :)
