9600xt or pro?

I am gonna buy either a 9600 xt or pro for gaming and of course hl2, which should i choose?

Well... everywhere you go you hear that HL 2 will perform best with the 9600XT or the 9800Pro, 9600Pro is probably cheaper, but go with the XT if you can. I wish all games told you what the best card to have for that specific game just to get an idea :cheers:

9800 Pro is the best value right now for $200 USD.

The 9600XT is $150 USD and isn't a good value imo, unless you are a casual gamer and on a strict budget of $150.

The 9600 Pro is a good deal if you can find it for $100 USD. Its performance is roughly 10% less than the 9600XT.

I'm aiming for a 9800 pro 256 Mb also, lets hope its really good as people say.

Agreed on the 9800 PRO. Right now it is the most bang for your buck card (for mid range cards that is). Supports Direct X 9 fully, will show most if not all of the goodies in half-life 2. The price difference between a 9600PRO, 9600XT, and 9800PRO, and the 9800PRO no doubt wins.

im sorry but i have a 9600xt and its a piece of shit, ppl say it should be running better but it just sucks. atleast go with the 9800pro, dont bother with the 9600xt
