Ohhhoh! Which one to pick? They all cost exactly the same.

Connect3D Radeon 9800Pro 128Mb DDR TV-out DVI Retail AGP

Hercules 3D Prophet 9800Pro 128Mb DDR TV-out DVI Retail AGP

Hightech Excalibur ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128Mb DDR DVI TV-out Retail AGP

Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9800Pro 128Mb DDR TV-out DVI Retail AGP

They are probably all mostly the same.. But there has been some talk that some cards have shims under the heatsink which gives it worse connection with the core. I know they might be using different brands of memory. They are all DDR but some might have samsung etc..

Anyway, please give me your opinion. All help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

And what is that same cost? It was a Sapphire I found for 270 dollars.
Its one of the best ATI brands (both by looking around on forums, they are the cheapest most often and I got a Sapphire Atlantis 9700 Pro :))

Connect3D I've only heard bad things about though... And the 9800 doesnt have the shim problem the 9700 had (as far as I know). And yeah, they can have different memory... But it doesnt matter that much unless you intend to do some serious overclocking. I'm not all that familiar with the memory details of the 9800.

$270.. Was that on ebay?

I live in Sweden and the prices are still pretty high here. The new retail price on a 9800pro is about $480. From the place where I'm getting my card, they all cost exactly the same.. However Connect3D is the only brand that is available at the moment :/.

Did you get it here in Sweden for $270 or was it from US or somewhere else in Europe? Was it brand new, with warranty etc?

brand new, oem, dont know about warranty, and it was in the US...

i'm getting a hercules based on user reviews from newegg.com.

lol peeps they are all the same. Only difference is fans and color

They all make good cards, but whats important is customer support. I recently fried my 9800 pro[it was my fault] and sent it in, I voided the warranty too. I took off the GPU shim and the original heatsink, I also added ramsinks. Before I sent it in, I cleaned it up and super glued the shim onto the board, looked like stock except the thermal grease was a different color. ATi sent me an new, better than my last 9800 pro. I'm so happy with the customer support @ ATi. I have heard awful thinks about Hercules cards and Gigabyte. Stay away. You can get more info @ rage3d.com. they have great radeon forums.

But I'd stick with Built By ATi cards. You wont regret it.

The Xtasy cards come of the same line as ATi. That means they are made exactly the same. So if anyone sees a cheap xtasy 9800pro dont think its bad or anything.

Its like impossible to actually get the xtasy 9800 pro at compusa. Its always sold out online and its $50 more at the store.

:) i guess i was lucky then. I got it for $350 + a $50 internet only rebate. So it was $300 all together. Great Fuxing Deal. It just came yesterday.

hmm, like a little less than 1 week. Im pretty sure i ordered it the 13th.

He probly tried to OC it, but accidentally slipped and OCed it at 200mhz increments rather then 5mhz.
