The difference you'll see between the Pro and SE is well, lower framerates with the SE.

The 9800SE will perform similar to a 9600Pro. Sometimes below, sometimes above.
It will run HL2 well on meduim settings.

You've been using a 7200 since it came out?! Man, you've got an old video card. Wait until you see the speed and how good everything looks with a 9800 pro. You'll be able to turn settings up all the way in even the newest games. I'll bet your 7200 struggled with low settings. On some good games like Far Cry, my crappy 5200 can't run smooth on everything low at 640x480.

Well I cant even run farcry, the colours go all wierd and the water turns into red and green triangles.

Not even CS:CZ runs smooth, although it should as im on an athlon 2800, 512 ram.

My computer used to run UT2003 & CZ smooth but after I took it round a m8s lan, its been going really fookin slow, I formatted it but its still going fookin slow, I assumed a new graphics card would put an end to my troubles.

Guys a quick question about AA and AF. I use to have my res @ 1024 x 768, but I recently switched to 800 x 600 so I could get used to it b4 HL2 came out. Will I get better fps if I use 1024 x 768 WITHOUT AA 2x or 800 x 600 WITH AA 2x?

I looked up some benchmarks between 1024x768 with AA and normal 1280x1024.
A number of different results. Some games with certain cards came out with 3 or so FPS better using the lower resolution with AA while others came out 10FPS behind. That isn't really representative because it is using higher resolutions though.

You will just have to try it out for yourself.
