Don't get a 9800xt, they cost $300 to $400 and at that price you could get the 6800NU or X800 pro which are way better.

OMG OMG OMG! I really hope that price stands till xmas! That's a freakin incredible price! Only $330 for a gfx card that's only a little slower than the best one out!

why would it go up? it might go down, not up, lol.

I bought a 9600xt in may.....now its obsolete. o well, all is not lost, doom 3 runs at 20-30fps on high 1024x768.

pretty sweet.

i am goin for the x800 xt pe but out of curiousite i jus wanted to kno how come i couldnt find them. that sort of amde me wonder if the same was goin to happen to the x800 xt pe

well....considering that the 9600XT pumps out 20fps in a game when the x800 pumps out 60 (and the game is capped at 60)....especially when this game is Doom 3.

Here....the x800 standard is more than twice the speed of the 9800XT, the x800XT is more than twice the speed of the x800 standard and the x800 XT PE is quite a bit faster than the x800XT.

The 9800XT is....about twice the speed of the 9600XT

Everything i know for sure, apart from comparing the 9600XT to the 9800XT, that i am just guessing.

So, yes the 9600XT is obsolete, but that doesn't mean it's bad!! It kicks ass!! just that other cards kick more ass!

P.S I found out that while Pixel shader 2.0 can only have 50 shader opertaions at one given time and Pixel Shader 3.0 can have thousands... Pixel Shader 2.0+ can have **infinate** at one given time! w00t!!! 9600XT is equipped with 2.0+ not 2.0!!!!
