I'm going to get a 9800Pro but dono which brand , I'm not going for something like Asus because it's too expensive. I'm more like llooking at something like a HIS or something cheaper . I was wondering does the brand matter much as to have a significant distance in the performance ?? If it does what brand is recommended ?

Sometimes the memory units can differ.

GO with Sapphire or Excalibur

Go with sapphire.

yes, get the sapphire.

Big chance you get one with a 360 core instead of a 350 core.
That's an 9800xt core, all u have to do than is flash the bios on it and...wooosah..u got urselfs a 9800xt for a pro price :p

Just like i did!!!

MSI apparently are all 360 cores which means you can mod it to an XT much easier.

GeCube.

It comes with a 9800 xt and core/memory speeds.

hell, it even recognises as a 9800xt in windows etc.

everyone i seem to talk to like the Sapphire ones.
so u can't go wrong with those.. others im not so sure.. some pple have told me Powercolor's rock while others tell Powercolor is probably the worse brand of ATI cards.. :dork:

i got a powercolor.... works good.. not to good for overclocking thou

Just make shure u dont get a 128 bits card in stead of the 256 bits a true pro has to have!
Brands like Club3d dumped 128 bits cards on the market cheap without informing potential buyers about it!

Called it the 9800pro LE and lowered te price!

Almost fell for that trick...but canceled the order when i found out about it
:hmph:

NEVER get powercolor. i had a problem with mine, RMAd it, and got another powercolor with the same bloddy problem!!! the memory was ****ed on two cards!!!

sapphire are the most common, therefore least likely to be in stock. excalibur are good, and so are asus. i got connect3d as they were literally the only one available stock wise. ive had no probs and am extremely happy so far...

HA in your face nvidia.

If you are just popping it in to use it, grab a Sapphire, Asus or MSI. Which ever is cheaper I guess.
If you want to flash it to an XT then grab the MSI.
