I would really like to use these two components in a computer i'm making, i just can't find anywhere to get them in the UK at the moment.

Does anyone know where i could get them, or when they will be available?

Anyone who already has either of these components i would like to hear your comments on how they perform:cheers:

THX!

xt isnt out just yet but the amd64 is, not sure where u can get them in the UK

You're going to have to wait for the XT. Make sure you have the right type of mobo for the AMD 64. If you don't it won't work.

i'm afraid the xt is out kids. you can buy it from ati.com.

hi animal, the only place i know of where u can get an amd 64 fx-51 is pcworld, there prices r quite high but its the only place i think.
click herehere and i think thats wot u want, its very expensive at 699£. hope it helped

Thx guys, is it worth getting an athlon 64 or should i just get a P4 for alot cheaper?

getting XTs in as soon as they come to UK, email them and they will reserve you one :cheese:

Animal did you want the Athlon 64 FX-51 at 549£ or the Athlon 64 3200+ at 318.95£? I think the Athlon 64 3200+ would be a better investment at this point.. because Amd is going to change the FX-51 to 939 pins instead of 940 within the next few months.. and it requires registered ddr memory.. which is more expensive than standard ddr.

If I were buying pc parts.. I'd buy the following

Athlon 64 3200+ 318.95£

Asus K8V Deluxe (Socket 754) Motherboard (MB-037-AS) 96.90£

Corsair 512MB DDR XMS3200C2PT Platinum CAS2 (MY-007-CS) 56.50£

and of course, the 9800XT :D

those prices are found at the overclockers.co.uk website that was pointed out above.
