Greetings all,

First off, sorry to make yet another thread about an MMORPG.

I tried searching 9Dragons, but for some reason the search feature just hangs.

I was just curious if anyone here has tried this game & if so, what they thought of it. I took a look at it a week or so ago & from the website, the game looked interesting. So I downloaded the client & after it updated, the game started.

I was surprised. For being free, (Well, you know what I mean) the game is actually pretty darn good. For those that don't know, it's an Asian themed, martial arts MMORPG. Like most games of this type, you have the ability to pick either a male or female player & then customize their appearance to some degree. Once ingame, you are free to do pretty much anything. There are a large number of missions to do along with several different factions to join, each offering different combat styles. From hand & foot Kung Fu, to drunken boxing to weapons, such as Staffs, swords, axes, spears, daggers & more. What really caught my eye, was that when you learned a skill, you had to practice it for it to level up. So if say you choose hand & foot Kung Fu, you learned a very basic attack, which if constantly used, would improve not only the damage you do, but the actual combat animations as well.

Since I am new to the game & thus have not gotten all that far, i'm not sure about the story. While playing yesterday, I asked that exact question, & was told by another player that "Yes, there is a story" & then the other player went on to tell me under which quest line it was named that you follow if you wanted to follow the games story.

This is a story of a land you know...and a land you do not know.

The Land where Martial arts chivalry was born.

A story of Nine Clans ? Nine lost Heroes ? and Nine Heroes yet to be found.

This is the Ming Dynasty ? The Era of Nine Dragons.

This Land holds many adventures, many wonders, and many secrets, some horrible and others beyond belief. Acts of heroism, romance, and fierce combat will unfold before you, like lotus petals, to nourish?

The seeds of The Dragon within you.

I have to admit that, that pic accurately describes (without words) almost every MMORPG ever released. Even WoW. It's the other features that the game employs, that help mask just how much you do & the process in with you go through when you have to do it. So in other words, some are more fun than others when it comes to "Grinding". IMHO, 9Dragons isn't as painful or boring to grind as some MMO's are I have tried.

Tried it. . . can't say that it was good. . .i'll stick with Mythos thx

Damn You Hollywood! I took a look at Mythos & it looks rather interesting. To the point that I am now forced, to download the client and give the game a go.
