A few more nice screens!

Hi. Just tried out cs:source, and I was really amazed by the graphics.

The screens I've attached are a bit overcompressed with jpg, but you still see how great this game looks.

The best of all, the pc I've played is a XP1700, 768 MB DDR, and a poor ATI RADEON 8500 LE (!). Everything ran smooth with 4XFSAA on.

Those are definately some of the best screens I've seen of cs:s.

How is that people who took screen with 9600/9800s didn't look as good as these radeon 8500 ones? I think their screens really got screwed by the jpg conversion.

Yeah, a lot of people are taking screenies with the in-game screenshot tool for bug reporting. That makes fugly screenshots for the purpose of sending to valve so they can see the bug, not for displaying the excellent graphics of CS:S.

They look nice, I just hope that either:

a) HL2 has much higher res textures
or
b) They will be releasing higher detail CS:S textures for things like the gorund, whihc don't look a whole lot better than the current CS.

These screens above were also taken with the built in screenshot function, so these are also "destroyed" by the jpg conversion. Still, I think they look nice.

Of course they are - it's just that cs:s isn't as good as HL2 in texture quality, because obviously they've been working on HL2 for a much longer time than on cs:s.

Yah. I get that error with Firefox too. Sucks I use SmartFTP to upload them.

SubKamran, I was watching the videos and i gotta disagree with you on something tho. Doom 3's flashlight is better the engine was made for shading and lighting. but other than that css looks pretty good and cant wait to get my hands on it

nah no need for name calling. you are entitled to your own opinion it's just I thought doom3 had better lighting. both are great games either way.

maybe im just jelous cause you get to play it and I still gotta wait a while lol
