I've half-finished my first gun model (no me not showing it ) but the all grey colour is a little boring. Now I know u all posted links to tutorials in my other thread but I really can't find a texture mapping tutorial, probably cos I don't know what the proper name is. Does anyone know any basic 1's of how I can make my texture in PSP/PS and then import it onto my model? Or how to export a 'map' of my model to paint over. (In XSI)
Also How do you do boolean operations in XSI?
I.E.
(see attachment)
How would i use the cylinder to make a circular hole in the cube? I tried Modify -> Poly Mesh -> Boolean -> Difference but that just gives a wierd result which I dont understand.
Can XSI do this? I only remember it from some CAD software I used once, and Some-one mentioned it in a galil tutorial, but It was for 3DS Max..... okay Intersect looks promising, but it doesnt actually cut a hole.
