A freezing situation

Alright, Im having a problem with not just CSS but all source engine games, single and multi-player. I play with over 90fps consistently, with about 50-70ms ping on most servers and I freeze up. This happens about every 10seconds. I can run smooth then 10 seconds later I freeze, it fixes...but it gets me killed. alot........so hopefully someone out there knows what to do.

AMD 3200+
GeForce FX 5600
1.5GB RAM
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
Cable Internet


Also..I have tweaked it to the max, lowered the DX level up and down. However this old card is only hardware dx8
As well....all programs running in the background have been terminated.

Over heating? Take your side case off and put a fan next to your computer
