A General Thread

if any of you have been to the IGNBoards, then you know what im talking about. basically its just a thead you can come to to hang out. your posts dont have to be meaningful, you can just come in, say hello, tell about how crappy your day was, or just share something that isnt worth a thread of its own. basically a hang out. do any of you feel the need for a thread like this? i find them very fun, and i think you guys would like them too.

Yeah, I tried going to the IRC once... freaked me out... then I went there again... billions of people were there, but no one typing... freaked me out... I don't go there anymore.

and plus, we dont have to have it. i was just asking because i think they are fun to chat in.

I've been thinking about posting the same idea, a swedish forum I usually visit has this kind of thread (it's a Weekly thread, gets locked at 12am Monday, and has a page limit of 65, but that's kinda high for this forum since you don't post as much here as you do in that forum.. ), it's fun.. You can discuss everything, or just ask what's on the telly in California.
It's very nice, gives a sence of cozyness..

It's how much that doesn't make it that is the problem...So much spam, so little time.


Anyway, we have a macro version of this...It's called (As has been pointed out now) Off Topic. You can talk about anything if you want, you just don't spam. This thread i don't think would be classed as spam, although some of it might be. However, there really is no need.

hmm.. the idea in itself isn't bad.. but from what we have seen in the past here.. i'd imagine this sort of thread would turn into spam quicker than u can spell spam..

and we already know how much spam is tolerated around here

EDIT: o and i would like to point out that so far, every single post in this thread has had reasoning and thought put into it. and if you are the kind of guys who hang out at the off topic forum, then whos going to spam the General Thread?
