Well, guys...I know the majority of you are probably sick of hearing all this, but...lets just take a moment and recap on what hints valve has been tossing at us, I mean, lets be honest, it is very obvious (at least in my opinion) that valve is working on something "Half-Life Three" related. Yall remember when the first teaser trailer was released for Half-Life 2: Episode 2, it showed a different way of Alyx receiving a "near death" injury...Instead of being stabbed in the back by a Combine Hunter, she was depicted of falling off the train bridge. (Or something like, that, it has been awhile.) But anyway, later on, Gabe was in an Interview with someone, discussing "Ricochet 2" and how they have a problem "saying too much in advance" (hint the teaser trailer of HL2 EP 2).
Valve does not want too make the same mistake twice.
I'm sure valve will announce "Half-Life Three" when the game is pretty much done in development, because..like Valve said, they are consistently changing things during development, and Gabe thinks that all these changes will drive fans more crazy, than just silence.

Anyway, in all honesty, I am not too worried about the actual "release" of Half-Life Three,
my biggest fear is, how the story will turn out...

(That would be the biggest "let-down" in the world, if Half-Life Three took place 30 years after Episode 2)
That is the only real confirmation I want...is too know that the events in Half-Life Three take place RIGHT after Episode 2, just like the other games did, following one right after the other.

As much as I agree with you about wanting the next Half-Life game to pick up right where Episode Two left off, I'm not sure how, from a narrative standpoint, they can do that without alienating all the players who will be jumping into the next HL game without having played the previous ones. With how much time has passed since the release of Episode Two (6 years now), there are going to be a lot of players who play the next HL game without having played the original ones, and Valve are going to have to accommodate those players as well. Maybe they'll just bundle HL, HL2, Ep1, and Ep2 for free with all copies of the next HL game (and that would be great), but it's still expecting a lot of time from new players.

So, basically, I think they're going to have to skip notably forward in the story timeline at the onset of the next game simply because they can't count on all players knowing exactly where the last HL game left off.

Luckily, the precedent is there. Portal 2 showed us that Valve know how to design a game sequel that introduces new players to the game world without overloading returning players with repeated material. Granted there is an enormous gap of in-game time between the two Portal games, it at least shows the problem is not insurmountable.

Yeah, im sure whatever Valve does decided too do, it will be a good decision, I just hope it is not a very big leap forward in time, I am hoping at most, A few days after Eli's death, or maybe a week. What do you think?

Take place after Eli's death, maybe a week or so, new weapons, characters, and settngs. HAT IS WhAT I WANT VALVE DAMMIT FSJDLUGH:RHEGUHGLHD:GOGD"PGS
