Did Abraham VanHellsing ever have anything to do with Vlad Dracula, ie Vlad the Impaller?

I don't believe that there ever was an actual Abraham Van Helsing, but I could be wrong. I have never heard of him outside of any work of fiction...

Blast, the lawyer strikes again! Good post...

Van Helsing was the popes man for hunting down witches, heritics etc.
Vlad Dracula was a Romanian warlord who cut the heads of his victoms off and put them on pikes outside his castle and so earned the name Vlad the Impailer. He also drank the blood of his victoms inspiring the name Dracula for the book. Dracula also means 'The Devil' so that was another reason it was picked and 'droch fula' means bad blood in Irish and of course the writter of Dracula was Irish.
