Hey, first of all. Let me just say this mod will not be developed. I just like the whole idea even though it’s fairly simple. Just read the thread and give me your feedback, let’s just see what people think.
The world and its leaders have been all over the news for the last 3/4 years. If you think about it you can split these leaders up into categories all with specifically different polices and laws, they treat and give there citizens different permissions and laws.
Although there has always been a game where you become a very powerful leader and take over the world, I have something a little different in mind. First of all if you have played the game Rise of Nations it will help you understand me greatly. But first of all let’s get onto something a little more specific. When you play a Real Time Strategy game it is very probable that you will have to choose the country/race you wish to play as. This is what first caught my attention and I was like "well... why do we do this all the time". There have been many games such as Black and White and Fable where you influence your own character, but not many games actually generalise you as a character and you influences have effects on the people you lead, rather than you as a person.
Now let’s get onto the actual idea before you begin to drift off into a deep sleep . 'A Leader Will Rise' is a multiplayer real time strategy where you take on the role as a leader. You are not an entity; instead you make choices and control your army/people. You do not choose a specific race or team. Instead you become what you create. As you begin to play everyone is the same, as usual you need money and a source for materials. Trading and mining are very typical ways but in a way they make sense. As you progress you build up a semi large city. You specify you’re self as you build buildings e.g. religious buildings will make you people religious and dedicated. Trade centres will get you more money. In the long run it’s all about been your self or who you want to be. It’s quite hard to actually understand where you could go and what you could become, so I will explain some of the leaders you may become.
Sadam Hussain: If you treat your people badly and enforce cruel and vicious rules your people will fear you, although they may upraise against your reasons, your army will be very dedicated and not be scared of death. Because it’s very hard to be evil and rich at the same time your style of combat will change. Tanks will not be your key method of combat, but instead stealth and guerrilla warfare. Bombing and storming specific buildings from harbouring countries. Create suicide vehicles and people to bring down your enemy. Although your base will be very vulnerable and not very well defended if the other side kills civilians it effects there polices and there people may upraise against them. It also works the other way, since bombing your enemy because’s hatred and makes your enemies army become more dedicated but if targeted correctly you can bring down your enemy.
George Bush: Treat your people generally and become very powerful through technology and high resources. Although you have a very powerful army your people are radical teenagers and do not carry out orders very well. They may flee or even break down if they do not feel powerful and overwhelming. High technology comes with a large price, so even though you may have loads of money, it will go very quickly.
This should give you a general idea of what I am thinking about. Give me your ideas, see what you think. Thanks.
Thats just the general idea remember, I will let your imagination do the rest
