... in north America alone.

Regardless of people's views on how good the games are, that's mighty impressive stuff and superb news for the 360 and Xbox Live.

True, I really want to see how far the marketing machine goes for Halo 3. Should be entertaining.

I agree. I never pre-order. Like all the people that pre-ordered Longhorn, and never got anything for it...

I pre-ordered the legendary >_> I had the money..and..well the guy at the counter made it sound like the greatest thing ever D:

I preorder all my games. It's nice knowing that on launch day they'll pop through the letter box without any need to traipse around town and queue behind spotty teenagers in Game. At the moment there are so many cracking games on the way across all platforms I often forget what's coming and when - the unexpected game arriving is always exciting :)

I hardly ever preorder, only if its gonna be one SPANKING good game that I just cannot wait around to get, i.e. the orange box. Others include Half-Life 2, Perfect Dark and Shenmue 1 and 2.

Half-Life 2 is the only game I've ever pre-ordered.

Otherwise I just go and pick it up at Best Buy on the release date.

A millions idiots......

:p

WROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG!!!

URIEL is this what you play ?, ;)

Move it left and rotate 90 degrees clockwise!

I don't need to preorder; I live in a small town with a Tesco half the size of it, and there's never a problem getting games there. People rush off to the nearest city.

Hehe pre-orders are silly. Reminds me of the WOW BC launch a whole stack of people ran into Adelaide to get their copy the split second it launched to "guarantee" they got a copy. Next day I'm walking through my local shopping center and walk past EB Games, plenty of copies there. For whatever reason I also had to visit another shopping center and walked pasted Ultimate Gaming, again plenty of copies there.

The GAME in Wolverhampton was empty when I went in on the release day. It was about 6pm, mind, but there was loads of copies. Quite surprised considering how hyped the game was. I suspect things will be different with the Halo 3 launch.

whats the release date again, September what?

I don't recall saying I disagreed. But you shouldn't be too harsh on them; most have never played anything better. ;)

I get most of my games from a place that never runs out, that even benefits from more people. Off course my well laid plans all go to hell if it turn out to be a good game worthy of purchase.

And the crowd holds their breath. Will it bite, will it bite??! Oh, it swam away :)

Once again, I don't understand all the halo hate. I think that if it was never compared to Half life, a lot of you wouldn't hate it so much. It was repetitive, but it was still pretty fun and halo 2 had some great online play.

Hear that? Its the sound of 1 million potty-mouths stealing my air. Sick and wrong.:x

Did these people actually play Halo 2 before doing this? Astounding.

WHAT?

I only put 1,000,000 in the quantity box as A JOKE! God damn you Amazon ;(

Seriously though, there is nothing "idiotic" about preordering Halo 3. People enjoy the first two, so why not hope that the third one will provide the same enjoyment. People here preordered Half Life 2, either due to hype or cause of the success of the original. It's no different.

That's what I'm thinking too. The single-player experience left much to be desired, so it must be fueled by the multi-player. But even still, wouldn't the Halo 3 multi-player be...pretty much the exact same experience as Halo 2? :|

Could be, but even if the gameplay was, there are still some aspects that would draw fans in. New maps, new weapons, new gametypes, new graphics and an improved matchmaking system.

That and online 4 player co-op.

!!!!!

Cortana boobs.

EDIT: You know, just after saying that, I can vividly imagine the kind of frat boy conversation that would inevitably pop up when they hunker down with their kegs and load Halo.

"Yo dude, would you hit Cortana?"
"DUDE MAN, SHE'S ****IN' PURPLE, DUDE."
"YA MAN, I KNOW, RIGHT. BUT, LIKE, WOULD YOU?"
"****IN' PURPLE BOOBS, MAN. WOO!"
"AW YEAH, MAN."
"I'D HIT THAT SHIT."

*High fives*

I preorder stuff all the time, really why not. Its free and i get my preorder box and goodies. I have the legendary preordered btw.

It's just a bunch of lame, bitter losers who are the keyboard warriors of the internets.

Or people like me who gave Halo a shot from start to finish and thought it was rather average. The problem arises when all the kiddies run around screaming how awesome it is. Public transport comes close to stages of hell after a major console release. If you like the game fair enough, I never will and will most likely bash the next kid that mentions the word Halo the next time I catch a train into town.

The only reason I'm getting Halo 3 is because it's the big franchise for the Xbox and the multiplayer can be fun with a few friends, it's like having a Playstation X/2/3 and not having GTA

Shenmue 1 and 2.

If Shenmue was coming to PC, I would definately pre-order, regardless of the graphics budget, after all it was such a great game then, and I would still enjoy it today (if I didn't lose my Dreamcast :p)

Seriously, Shenmue was probably the best game on Dreamcast

Well a truely, the first Headhunter was pretty awsome too.
