It's been a pretty slow news week, so we thought we would fill up some of the empty space with a new episode in our A Minute With series! In this new episode, we relive some of our fondest memories from Valve's gameplay library by spending A Minute With Portal, Valve's critically acclaimed puzzle title from 2007!

I don't know if any of you had a similar experience, but I had a lot of friends play this game by my suggestion, and inevitably they would get stuck. Here's the fascinating part to me: When they would get stuck and ask me for help (having already beat it at this point) I wouldn't actually help them, instead, all I would say was portals little catchphrase: "Think with portals" and after i said that Its almost like they re-evaluated the map, this time thinking with portals, and would solve it. This simple little 3-word phrase would some how make them solve any puzzle they were stuck on.

(if this post seems a little sporadic, I'm drunk and i'm reminiscing about a beloved game)

Inebriation aside, I know what you mean. It was somehow satisfying to be able to help friends through this game without ever actually pushing them to do anything specific. For me, the phrase was "just look up," since that was the thing that stumped all of them, for some reason. The phrase "remember which portal is where" quelled many a headache as well.

I never had the joy of solving the Tests has i watched a walkthough of it ages ago thinking i would never get the game

I hope you aren't mocking him with this, Portal is a damn fine game to play as your first on PC. Hell, it's probably too good since it's unlikely anything will top it for a lot of people.
