It's nice to have a bit of eventful activity around here Even if it was just a joke. As long as it's clear to everyone that nothing's changed, Valve have stated there is no multiplayer other than CS:S with HL2, and there's no reason to believe otherwise.

i asked Icarus if he could tell me some secrets about HL2 or CS:S and he said that due to the NDA he signed, he could only tell me fake secrets. so i guess ill settle for that. this thread is for all mods to come and post fake secrets that you know, please please post some, im really desperate for any information, whether or not its true. thanks.

Icarus later posted this in that thread:

There are Half Life 2 Multiplayer modes including Co-Op, DM, Team Deathmatch, and Combine vs Resistance Battlefield 1942 type matches with vehicles. It's meant to be a surprise thats why they havent said anything. And they weren't included in the review copies. They knew that since you have to access the internet to play multiplayer anyway, they could have them ready for download on the 16th. This allowed them to spend more time making them the best multiplayer ever.

As you can see, the thread started was asking for some untrue information, so Icarus obliged But then, the evil Ikerous made a thread which only linked to Icarus's individual post, not the thread it was in, so it was taken out of context, and people started going crazy about there being a multiplayer.

Less than two weeks to go for the release of this monster, I doubt that either Valve or VUG would knowingly hide any important component of this game at this point. I would think that anyone involved in the marketing of HL2 would brag about each of the game's features to hype up the public, not hide them from the average Joe; that's just not practicle.
