A PC gamer chats with a console fanatic...

Deus Ex 2 was a very good game.

One of my favourites :)

If it was better optimized and there was multiple ammo types like the first one it would be a 9/10 game rather than a 7/10 game.

They said Half Life 2 will be coming out for X-BOX around what, march or so? Yet, the gameplay still will not be as great or as immersive as a PC for a few very simple reasons.
1. graphics will almost always be better on PC (except on spider man 2)
2. using a mouse
3. creating your own levels
4. mods
5. downloading maps from other people from across the world.

If Microsoft is to rival the PC gaming crowd with porting PC games to X-BOX, they should do one thing that the SNES did... make a mouse that's compatible with thier system, along with a small keyboard like W,S,A,D, to at least let them play HL2 or Doom 3 like it was meant to be played. oh, and upgrade people's videocards and RAM in their X-Box's.

John: That ain't never gonna happen while microsoft controls the Xbox.

As for arguments with console fans, most of my conversations end with them saying something incredibly stupid ((Halo 2 has more mods than hl2 *Smirk*)) and I just say "You are focking stupid" then I just, walk away.

Oh, Deus Ex 2 was a good game in its own right, I played it through twice. It was just an abomination compared to the beauty of Deus Ex.

And I hate the amount of times I'll be explaining a game like Half Life or UT and the person will be like "Oh, you mean like Halo? I love Halo! Isn't Halo great!? It's the best multiplayer game ever."
Then I'll tell them all about the features of UT2004 which makes it a far better multiplayer game than Halo and they get all defensive.

It also makes me sad that for consoles, Timesplitters 2 was so much better than Halo yet so many people have never even heard of it.

you PC think that the consoles users are stupid just cuz dont play PC
but I just say something

look at you when you make that comentaryes like "consoles users are blablablabla" you just act the same, you all act like unhappy people whit frustated dreams
sure you all wanted to go to a videogame store whit a shotguns and shoot all the consoles cuz "PC ownz" and start to say that are "superior" just cuz hav something that others dont hav and crap like that
who say that console games are inferiors? I see more complexity in metal gear solid 3,resident evil games, and more, that in many PC games of the last years
but you all just find the "weak spots" of something and star to use them to flame that whit all that hate
PC hav it defects too like everything

but as you are "superior people" dont listen anything that is againt you cuz you are "more mature"....

I begin to get seriuos in videogaming whit a playstation, played more that 100 games, and still I could play PC games lik Hal-Life and enjoyded a lot,and I still playing whit my PC even if I loved my console
and as you see I am not like one of them even if I hav 15 years old like is the supossed age of that idiots

so if some PC fanboys will start to talk shit like "consoles players are inferior and idiots blablabla"

I just gonna say that introduce your PC in your ass and shut the **** up

So you just basically said the same as me, but flamed everybody in the process =P
we're talking about 'casual' console fanboys, the kinds of people who only play Halo, GTA and the endless swathe of sports titles.
That brings me to another gripe I have after working at a video game store - so many people today gauge how good a game is by how similar it is to GTA.

I had so many customers ask me this question:
"Hey mate, is this a good game?"
*hands me a copy of say, Burnout 2*
"Oh yeah, it's one of the most fun driving games you can get on any system. The pure arcade style racing and sheer speed of the game make it insane and a great game you can just pick up and play!"
"...oh..cool. Can you get out of the car and kill people?"
"Well, not really, it's not like Grand Theft Auto, it's an arcade racing game.."
"Oh..."
*customer puts game back on shelf*

And I shit you not, I had similar questions about Jet Set Radio Future.

I also had the question "Excuse me mate, is this game like Vice City at all?" or the ever popular "Hey do you guys have that Vice City game?"

Classics like Timsplitters, Broken Sword, Beyond Good and Evil, Dark Cloud, Gitaroo Man, Maximo and Prince of Persia left gathering dust on the shelves because all anybody wanted to do was steal cars and kill people.

Well - one mans classic is another mans average game. (I thought Dark Cloud and Timesplitters stunk a little ;))

Many just want the game their mates are playing, or the one they saw an advert for. Some ppl would end up enjoying Fifa 2005 more than PES 4 (despite it being an inferior footy title)

If they just want to steal cars and kill ppl that's all good :)

lol just like here

I remenber in a videogame store I was playing cronicles of riddick and in my side 2 kids was playing halo 2,and I was ina level where are some construccion machine and one of the kids looked it and askme "you can drive the car?" and I say "no in this game you dont drive cars" and he just turn hes head like mad or something

and that happen whit almost everyone, for example one of my cousin thats is one of that vice city lovers fall in love whit UT2004 cuz are vehicles too and now is one of the games he play more on cybers,I think the problem is that they just dont open theyr minds to experiment new things, well there was games that get popular like warcraft3 that was rare considering that the most famous game is counter strike but still is the same case

Did anyone get mercenaries for xbox or ps2 and is it any good?
