A question regarding skybox height.

I'm working on a HL2DM map right now, in which around 50% of the area is outdoors. So, of course, I have a skybox.

The problem is that gravgunned objects, grenades and other launchables will bounce off the invisible skybox roof.
I know it's best for performance to have the sky as low as possible, so how high off the ground must the skybox roof be in order to keep objects from hitting it?
 
It's hard to give a concrete number for something like this. I wouldn't worry about it too much for the moment; let it wait till you are playtesting the map. This will be the best way to judge anyway, and besides, raising the skybox will cause your level to take longer to compile.. save those long ones for the end.
 
Actually it only adds 2-3 seconds to have a box be a larger box, aslong as you made the toppart seperated with a hintbrush.
