A quick question about 'bosses' and other large enemies

A few reviews have been put out now, all of them praising the game and confirming what fans have been hoping for ever since it was announced last year - loads of atmosphere, next-generation graphics and physics, original storytelling and gameplay, etc. I've a question though, mainly about the enemies in the game and the Striders more specifically. Up till now I haven't seen or heard of any review that mentions more enemies than those that were already known, namely the headcrabs, antlions, Combine soldiers, zombies,... There's a few hints here and there about things like flying headcrabs for instance (just saw it in a quote on the HL2.net front page), but while I wasn't expecting anyone to actually mention them, I wás expecting reviews to allude to (or at least hint at) other large or impressive enemies like the Striders. I think everyone was impressed when they first saw those big guys in the videos from the E3 last year. I'd never seen anything like them in any shooter, in any case. Naturally I was expecting other enemies like them in the game, I mean I was certain Valve had loads more bloodcurdling things up their sleeve, possibly even things that were even more impressive than the Striders. But since the reviews I've seen till now don't mention anything about them I do get the impression now that the Striders might indeed be the game's only 'super'-enemies, so to speak. Could this be the case? Or will there be more? Could there be a kind of 'bosses' you think, large or powerful enemies you only encounter once or twice in thegame? Or do you think Valve have indeed shown the fans HL2's most impressive foes already?

QUICKNOTE: The key below backspace... veeeeeeeerry useful ;)

There are enemies you dont see in official press releases.

I'm still excited about encountering the hydra.

Alright, here's the abbreviated version of the initial post:

Striders in videos = impressive.

Reviews so far mention known enemies, cite Striders as most impressive ones.

Question: with Striders, might we already have seen most impressive enemies in game? Or do Valve have more up their sleeve?

There. ;)

Now, I'm definitely disappointed to hear they took the Hydra out. If that's true, I can't imagine why they did it. I'd personally assumed they would be one of those fairly uncommon and 'unaffiliated' enemies, meaning they're not part of the combine or whatever but more like a kind of lifeforms you might encounter only once or twice along your adventure, lurking in dark and hidden places. I'd assumed there would be several enemies like those in the game.

Mainly, though, I'm a little worried that, as I said in the original post, there won't be many surprises left where it concerns enemies. That wouldn't be too bad, but it would be disappointing I think if the Striders really are the biggest and most striking foes you'll encounter along the way.
