A Theory on the G-Man ---Really big spoiler if its true---

The G-man has come from the future to save mankind, and has chosen Gorden Freeman to be the hero to do so.
What is the connection between the G-Man and Gorden Freeman? Perhaps it is the fact that the G-man knows what all the Freeman is possible of. Or maybe because they both have green eyes, or the same colored hair… Hmmm
The G-Man
Gorden Freeman.

Nawww :rolling: Gorden wears glasses *cough* Clark Kent *cough*

It's been talked about before. Personally, I don't think the theory is at all plausable.

You sir, are original.

No-one has ever suggested this - right on.

The G-Man
Gorden Freeman.

His name is Gordon, not Gorden.

The "G-man = Gordon" theory was posted about two or three times yesterday, just like it's posted every other day of the week.

Give it a rest already.

Perhaps you can link me up with the thread that discuses this so I can have an intelligent conversation. :p

Which one of the probably-a-hundred-by-now threads do you want us to link you to, sir?

Alternatively, you could try looking at any of the pages in the rumours and speculation forum. That's where most of them live.

George W. Bush is a man = G-Man !!

The G-Man is teh president. OMG!!

*sigh*

I hope there is a really good story behind G-Man in HL3. We need something great to end the HL-trilogy.

Bleh I guess this is what I get for only looking on this board before posting. Btw, it is the Grammer Nazis are teh ones who aught to give it a rest.

You corrected "teh" two times.

Great job.

I think the second time was him correcting sentence structure. Adding a "that".

I reckon there is an organisation of people (humans) who, indeed like gods, transcend space and time and are responsible for the surivival of the human race. The G-Man is their representative on earth, working Freeman as their puppet to ensure mankind's survival. The G-Man's constant omnipresence and hindsight is an indicator of this.

G-man is an alien in human body (at least when he wants to speak with Gordon), he is from one of the many races enslaved by "the combine".
G-man came to earth to see how the first human - xen "meeting" goes, so he found Gordon Freeman and from now on he is "using" Gordon to fight against the combine.
After seeing how skilled Gordon is, other races would like to hire him to help them against the combine.

Or maybe the G-man is Elvis. Yeah. Elvis is trying to resurrect rock'n'roll by destroying the Combine.

Or whatever.

I was wondering if he's some kind of powerful ghost. All the appearances in odd places, on TV screens just as you look at them, and the way he can just walk though an area that you know for a fact is full of dangerous hostiles...

My thoughts are that he is kinda like Q from StarTrek the next generation.

The G-Man, Black Mesa and City 17 are all a dream. When Gordon
woke up from his dream he walked into a cave and this is what he saw.........HL 1/2/3

If they are the same person, why would Gman have given gordon the option to die at he end of HL1?

Thank you for realizing that. People don't seem to understand that typing like a two year old does in fact make you look like an idiot. :dozey:

I dont really think they are the same people, but..
If you've completed Half-Life2, recall G-mans speech at the end - it was something like "rather than give you the illusion of free will, this time i will be choosing for you" - indicating that Freeman never really had the choice in the first place.

Grates on your nerves, doesn't it?

I think that he isnt letting you have free choice because what he has planned for you (and i hope alyx, barney, and shepard) is too big to be spoiled by you turning down his offer

I think the G-man is using Gordon to destroy the world.
Just my own personal theory.
