I use a Radeon 9800 Pro 128 and when I turn the AA on for Direct3D it screws the text up in my games. Is there a way to tell it not to use the AA on the text or do I just have to deal with it?

Try experimenting with different catalyst drivers, some resolve this problem.

Also, you may want to make sure that its the AA and not the AF, which used to screw up Battlefield.

btw It's best to turn on AA/AF in games that offer it rather than the display properties.
Look up how to enable AA/AF with games that don't have the options in the game menus. Most have commands you can enter in the game shortcut or in a config file.
It does a better and truer job when enabled in game.

Fixing text is more of a game and driver issue. Some games do well with text when AA is enabled and others don't do a thing so it's hard to read.

There is also a new command line option for Steam games: -noaafonts. This turns off aa on fonts.
