I'm a backup freak and one thing i always do is back up save game files. Im wondering is there anyway i can take the files out of my 360 and PS3 hard drive and put them on my ULTRA COOL SUPER external backup hard drive?

Now a side from that, who here loves the fact that they can save ANYWHERE in Mass Effect. WTF? Why don't ALL console/PC (PC games for the most part do it) have this?

One thing i did was make a save for EVERY cool part in Deus Ex. I seriously have a save for any part of that game. Over 1.3 GIGS of saves.

Not to mention the game allows you to name your saves and it creates a screenshot next to each save.

Why don't all game's have this? I mean its really a very nice option and i cant imagine it takes a lot of effort. I mean Prey took the screenshots but didn't allow you to name the files....

Anyway some things that games should always have..

1. Naming your saves
2. A screenshot of where the save was taken
3. Quick Save
4. Save anywhere anytime (With some restrictions if it warrants) (Like in Mass Effect if you in a battle you cant save, that really doesn't bother me)
5.
6.

Oh and btw whoever wants the Deus Ex saves, if their are enough people ill upload them. I really did make a save file for every part of the game.

Would you like some coffee with your sugar?

If it makes you happy, it's one thing that's harped to us at DigiPen... When we make games we need to make sure we design them with save-anywhere features! :) So wait about four years when I'm in the industry (hopefully) and I'll promise you good save game ability!

Humm, thats really good to hear. Btw does anyone know the answer to my question about the 360/ps3 saves.

While I like the option to save anytime, I sometimes find myself guilty of quicksaving too often.

I remember saving like mad in Max Payne 2. Shootout -> Quick Save - > Shootout [losing much hp in the process] - > Quick Load

I miss being able to save anywhere in most games with the name of the save and the screenshot. They had it in the old days with games like Duke Nukem 3D, why not now?

On the one hand I see where you're coming from - in that it can be handy to save like that ... but on the other hand, I like games that remove the issue of having to bother with savegames ... COD4 for example. I think both systems would work well side by side - autosaves and custom saves. I think you should add 'autosave' in that list?

I know for the 360 you can take the external hard drive and using a special adapter connect it to your computer. It's only a sata connection all mixed around.

Google 360 hard drive backup sata and you should get something

I was nice and checked out some of the links this looks promising:
