I read on USA today yesterday about the soldier who got 8 yrs in prison, demoted to private, and discharged for abusing the iraqis. It also said that the army was PRESSURED to obtain ANY info about the iraqi terrorists. Also, I don't consider taking nude pictures of our enemy "torture". Now, I DO consider cutting off american's heads off slowly and painfully torture.

I wonder why our government has chosen to put our own troops in jail for doing their job. Even if it was just a bit of harmless fun, come on... they were ordered to help the very people who are also trying to kill them. I don't agree at all that any of these soldiers should get any jail time or demotion of any kind. Terrorists should be humilitaed to the fullest for what they have done for our country.

Yes, i'm aware that many of you may not agree with what i'm saying, but that's what the soliders are fighting for.. our freedom, and one of those rights is right to a free speech.

Bolded the parts that made little to no sense whatsoever... left the first paragraph as it's all pretty misguided.

You're kidding, right? "a bit of harmless fun"? :| They were abusing prisoners, for god's sake. Have you even seen the pictures? They're pretty bloody humiliating and demeaning, regardless of what some of these people were put in prison for. It's hardly a good example to the rest of the world on the US's part to let them rum amok, is it?

are you ****ing insane?
it wasn't their job to tie people up....
do you have no ethics at all? treating people as animals is in no way a freaking O.K.

Yeah, but it helps if you don't consider them people. When you're detached from reality it's easy to approve of torture.

they got off lightly ..they should be tied naked and intimidated with starving dogs, urinated on and threatened at gun point with execution

A boy was being arrested for stealing some food products. They made him have anal sex with another prisoner. If you tell me you defend that I am ashamed to belong to the same species as you.

Terrorists killing American prisoners doesn’t justify abuse of imprisoned Iraqis who cannot defend themselves.

Look, I really dont think this should be discussed anymore. They have been shamed enough so leave it be

This news got out to the rest of Iraq. People were pissed so they killed some Americans. They did get off easy.

I'm willing to bet there is a correlation among idiots and people who believe that these "soldiers" are innocent.

Probably because god is on our side! We are the last bastion of morality; the chosen ones, etc.

Nu far vi till Amerika, Kristina. :)

Jag kommer Anders, hissa seglen.

Ärligt talat kommer jag inte ihåg var din del kommer ifrån, men jag känner igen den. Är det från filmen "Ängla----"? :)

moppe, what country are you from again? you're next on bush's hit list

But you got ticks. I haven't got a tick in my entire life and I'm not planning on doing so.

Nice ninjaedit though.

Well, I got a tick in Haparanda, so it's not just in the south. But we only see the nordic lights some times a year down here. That a shame.

It was in the Summer...maybe they climb to Narvik in the winter.

Hell yeah those morons should have gotten prison sentences. They don't deserve to be walking around if they are capable of that. They had a job to do, and that was NOT in the job description. And they certainly don't represent the rest of the united states armed forces. They are a disgrace.

hell yeah. i'm ashamed to call them american soldiers. they were not defending our freedom when they humiliated those men, regardless whether they were criminals or not. America wants to act like a moral compass and police the world? ok, but abusing prisoners is certainly not going to win any support for causes.
