I've been playing Ace of Spades the last few days, it's utterly awesome and only been out a week.

I've been playing the shit out of this too.
Ridiculously fun.

Does anyone else feel that green have a huge advantage though?

Very very hard to play as Blue and not get ass raped.

I tried it last night. It's pretty fun, but suffers from the same thing most multiplayer FPS games do: zero coordination. It's 90 percent spawning and then lone wolfing it toward the enemy until you encounter someone and die. Same reason I lost interest/became frustrated with BF2.

The best moment I had was sneaking into the enemy base and killing several people that were totally caught off guard building defenses. But then I still had zero backup so escaping with the flag would have been impossible. I couldn't even find it.

Gotta hunt around for decent servers, I've had some awesome teammate moments.

It's really good and has a nice WW1 feel to it as well. I couldn't implore you to play it more.

I've created a new way of playing it now which is quite fun. Instead of trying to get their flag, I assign myself the role of sapper and spend hours digging around under their bases so they collapse. It's so satisfying seeing hours of blue-scum manpower crumble into the ground. It's kind of like griefing, except it's not lame.

I'll give it a try.

EDIT: looking down in the game makes me want to vomit.

It's interesting. Flavor of the week, expect the rush to die down soon and it'll be left with a strong community core. Lots of hacking, etc. Also, remember, there are physics. Shit will fall down.

I tried it with Veggies. Interesting, but there was one thing that turned me off. This is perhaps the only time I will say this, but the graphics made me want to stop playing. It wasn't great to look at with its pantone dirt palette, and in addition it gave me eyestrain and motion sickness with the weird camera tilting/voxel mind****ery.

I like the colors enough, but the rest you said is pretty much why I can't play it.

Well, I think I can attribute the eyestrain to the way the graphics are set up currently. The game's geometry doesn't have outlines or textures (except those caused by an accumulation of blocks at a distance), so my eyes are constantly focusing and unfocusing in search for any kind of contrast when I'm looking at near objects. This is in addition to the too-near fog, so the whole game has this washed out, blurred look to it.

This idea could just be full of shit though, and it could be caused by something else.

I ****ing hooked to this cute-ass game. I can't stop. seriously.

I dig and dig and dig until I'm deep behind blue lines (I'm a STRICT green player and RP as a member of the Reich) and get trollolol potshots until they blow my shit up)

thanks for the share, let'splaytogether.net

I think I'd like to play this with a group of .netters if/when they get a less nauseating camera. I like the idea a lot.

I'd like to play with anyone if it didn't ****ing not work at all and is bad and I hate it.

is there like a forums or something like that of this game?

looks cool. I'll give it a try this evening.

Edit:

Well crap, does it require Windows to play?

Looks interesting but it won't work for me. I get a "Server connection failed: its either full or misconfigured" error on every attempt.

The idea behind this is immensely appealing. But it needs some work graphics and user friendliness. (No word on if it will work on a mac, servers are B*tch to get on exe)

That being said I really hope this game gets some polish and, once its usable, the attention it deservers.

I'll be watching
