I just got the soundtrack because I'm so hooked on this... The movie was freakin' awesome!

Basically, for those not in the know, "Across the Universe" is almost a rock opera where major parts of the movie are done to the songs of The Beatles (redone of course to better fit the tune they're in).

If you're a Beatles fan, go see this.
If you're a music fan, go see this.
If you love seeing new and interesting movies, go see this!

I'm still in awe on how awesome it is... It's not your typical movie experience. It just sort of drags you in and the Beatles music just really amps up the experience since they did it REALLY well.

The one huge bummer I can find with this is that since it's done by Sony Pictures it's being put out on Blu-Ray and not on HD DVD! :(

There are no... alternate ways of acquiring this film so I am forced to remain silent.

I do however like the soundtrack.

I've only heard good things about this. Although my sample size isn't very big, including only you and one other person I talked to IRL.

I prefer what cirque du soleil did with the songs... But I still really wanna see this film, even if it does look like they've made it very teen romance orientated

Ah yes. With Evan Rachel Wood? Gotta see it.

It sort of is. It's not totally about the love aspect though.

Either way, the ticket is well worth admission. If anything, wait until it goes to budget cinemas.

I'd love to see this, heard about it a while ago and the idea is great.

Bumping this because I just saw it for the first time yesterday. This movie was so well done in just about every way, other than being a bit cliche. The songs fit perfectly into the flow of the movie, and I loved all the random little Beatles references. If you appreciate good music and/or good movies, you really need to watch this.

The movie is basically a lot of music videos strung together. Most of them are good, but I can only watch so many back to back before I get tired. The part with naked swimming and Bon Jovi's I Am the Walrus is where I kinda lost focus. The plot is paper thin, and the characters are mostly stereotyped. Reasons to watch it are the music and the visuals. Go see it if you are a Beatles fan or a music video fan.
