Actrivating Halflife2

I bought the game a week or so a go, but I cant play it on my old comp and my new comp is having a lot of problems(motherboard was broken, etc etc)

Could I install it on my old comp(no chance of running it at all - 32mb graphics) and activate steam, then hen I install it on my new comp I dont need to activate it(It wont have an internet connection for a week or two)

Is this possible?

Also, If I activate steam on this old comp, can I play it on my new one?

And could I activate HL2 without installing it?

If you copy your Steam folder from your old computer to your new computer after activating on the old computer you should be able to play the game on the new computer assuming that you did all the updates so that you can play in off line mode without having to have your login data saved.

I have not tested this but it should work.
