Adding LUA support to your (singleplayer, Episode 1) mod

We all love Garry's mod and it's LUA scripts (Providing awesome things such as SWEPs). But why not add it to your own mod? Because you don't know how! And neither do I.

Who here has any experience in embedding LUA, and any clue on how to go about it in Half Life 2 (preferably to keep compatibility with Gmod 10 SWEPs)? Would any one here be willing to teach me? I'm planing it for an open source HL2 mod with additional features.

Has python been integrated with Source? Are there any resources for doing this?

contains updated textures for every single-player weapon along with much more realistic damage. The models and textures are aimed at realism and are attempting to emulate Far Cry 2. It includes several other mods and several new weapons all with newly updated realistic textures; The accuracy of the weapons are more realistic as well as having more armor penetration when appropriate (no more 6 shots to the chest to kill, more like 1-4 depending on the weapon) There is also a new map included as well!

Actually, I just remembered that Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines uses Python.
