Yeah! Adventure Games! Wohoooohoooo!

ok, maybe not. :| I don't know anything about adventure / puzzle games, so I need some help to find some good ones. Co-op gameplay would be a plus.

I don't know how new we're talking.. But early (very early) Lucas Arts games were awesome. Day of the Tentacle etc..

Anything as long as I can find a place to buy it. :dork:

Still Life. VERY VERY good game.

Great story!

Day of the tentacle
Grim Fandango
Snatcher
Broken Sword (All of them)
Monkey Island ( all of them)
The longest Yourney
Full Trotle
Your going to have a hard time finding them in shops, but you can order some from lucas arts, and the major torrentsites probably still have copies on them.

I havent played:
Sam & Max
Little big adventure 1 &2
but a lot of people seem to adore them.

loom - amazing, under-rated, innovative game; i still have my 'book of patterns' ;)
monkey island*
the dig
indianna jones and the fate of atlantis
little big adventure* - especially #2

actually.. any game based on scumm [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scumm ] though, the ones i listed above are my favourites ones.

grim fandango
broken sword*
myst
zork* - especially return to zork; eery, interesting and fun game

* = series

sadly, alot of these will be very hard to find. ;( actually, some like loom are abandonware and aren't too hard to find, online.

take a look around this site too - http://www.adventuredevelopers.com/games.php

You'll want to get your hands on Indigo Prophecy and Dreamfall: Last Journey.

Oh right, for a good newer adventure game, check out Indigo Prophecy. Great storyline until the end..

The Neverhood, you can find it online at Amazon I'm sure.
Old claymation adventure game, tons of fun. n.n

Zomg, lookz what I found!

Umm...everyone's saying Monkey Island.

...I'd skip 2: LeChuck's Revenge if I were you. Just....yeah.

The Longest Journey.
Syberia 1&2 , although I never finished syberia it was very good and different.

what was grim fandango like? I'm considering getting it, but I have no idea of what its about or how it plays.

Monkey Island
Grim Fandango
Discworld

TBH I found Myst and Broken Sword too boring.

Siberion, or something like that spelling

Everything from Tim Schafer.

Monkey Island
Day of the tentacle
Full Throttle
Grim Fandango
Psychonauts

All you need.

Ah, adventure games--The genre closest to my heart. Here are some essentials, but don't look for too much co-op fun--it doesn't really come into play in the way you are thinking in terms of adventure titles.

The Monkey Island Series.
Loom.
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.
Full Throttle.
Sam and Max.
Day of the Tentacle.
Grim Fandango.
The Dig.
Beneath A Steel Sky.
The Kyrandia Series.
Simon the Sorceror (1).
Discworld (1).
The Kings Quest Series.
The Space Quest Series.
The Quest for Glory Series.
The Longest Journey/Dreamfall.
Syberia 1 & 2.
Runaway.
Still Life.
The Moment of Silence.
Shadow of the Comet.
Prisoner of Ice.
Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy).
The Black Mirror.
NiBiRu.

These are the cream of the crop as far as I am concerned, but there are lots more where these came from. Go to AdventureGamers.com for all of your adventure needs or AdventureDevelopers.com (as stated earlier) for great news on indie engines, games, and more! Enjoy!

Does beyond good and evil not count? Or am I just a light weight adventure gamer? :(

What about Discworld Noir?
Well, I never actually played that one unfortunately so I didn't feel right including it. From what I have read its pretty good, if not a fully-realized sequel. Same goes for Simon the Sorceror 2/3. Didn't play them, but heard worse things about these than with Discworld. Its up to the gamer to decide and I can't since I haven't played them! It looks like I'd better get my eBay on....

Psychonauts isn't really a true adventure game, but it's in the spirit of one - and Tim Schafer was on it, so it's all good. REALLY GOOD.

Looks like Ankh-Morpork to me. Someplace near Gimlet's Dellecraoisomethingortheother, on Short Street. Near Cable Street. Somewhere around that place. Close to Treacle Mine Road, anyway.

I really need a camera so I can take take a pic of my copy of Psychonauts and send it to Tim. Its signed, by him, with the text "To my successor, Henrik Alfredsson (my name)". Blackmailing? Nah...

I just wish I had a credit card so I could get one -_-

/EDIT Or more accurately, were old enough to get one and/or could convince my parents to buy it for me, despite already actually having the game.

Discworld adventure games?

Which ****ing rock am I living under!?
