This is a FANTASTIC opportunity for a highly talented junior graphic designer to join a leading name within the games industry.
The Junior Designer is a member of the Creative Services Dept., which is a part of the SCEE Central Brand and Consumer Marketing Dept. Reporting to the Online Design Manager, you will be an integral part of the Online Design Team producing graphics, promotional material and features for official game releases and PlayStation.com. You will update and maintain the sites, working closely with the Online Content Team, Designers, Backend Developers and Online Marketing Managers. You will also have good organisational skills to manage requests and maintain the online offerings.
Main duties and responsibilities
· Support, and maintain the graphical content of PlayStation.com, yourpsp.com and Official Game Sites in line with SCEE Central / Territory business interests
· Work within a team to design editorial images and promotional banners
· Support design team by providing graphics and managing the editorial requests
· Upload and manage files in content management system
· Video integration and compression for web
· Delivery of any design on behalf of Online Marketing is to an agreed quality and timeline
· Manage timelines of design requests by interacting with other teams and departments
Essential Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess as many of the following qualities as possible:
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a related field
· Knowledge of Web Design tools/software (Macromedia Flash, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator) essential as well as basic HTML skills preferable
· Video for web experience
· Savvy in web production, web design, user experience, web content and best practices
· Excellent time management skills
· Ability to multi-task and prioritise
· Self-starter, motivated and consistently reliable. Proactive and works on own initiative
· Excellent communication skills and an adaptability to communicate across all levels of the organisation
· Interest in entertainment, broadband and technology – advantage but not essential
· Organised – able to prioritise and organise a varied and full workload
· A good all rounder is required – Eye for detail, broad thinking, design capabilities, marketing ideas and creativity
· This would be an ideal role for a graduate designer wishing to work within the games industry.
