Do graphics really matter so much for a multiplayer game?Mand0lesi said:Will HL1:S DM look the same as the current actual HL1:S game? cuz if so, this is not much to get excited about.

But if that's true then why bother remaking it at all?Cormeh said:Do graphics really matter so much for a multiplayer game?
Of course textures and skins are necessary for relating to environments and opponents, but don't essentially have to be mindblowing.
Because floppy ragdolls are what the crowds wantJimmehH said:But if that's true then why bother remaking it at all?
I have to admit here, I do like the NHL games that EA makes. I still play 2003 though, their marketing strategy is a bit transparent. I bought the Road Rash for the playstashun 1 a while back.. nowhere near as good. I still have RR1 on my Megadrive though, good fun.HiPNoTyQ said:they are the microsoft of the gaming industry. always trying to monopolize the market by buying out its competitors. Nowadays if you want to get a new NFL game you HAVE to buy Madden because they bought the soul rights to NFL franchise games. Its because of big companies like this (that just try to capitalize on their products and maximize profits) that smaller gaming companies will never get off the ground. All EA cares about is money, and you can see this by the amount of work they put into their new games...haha, take madden for example, every year they offer 1 new update to the game (percision passing) along with the exact same game as last year, for the wonderful price of $50-$60. All the while the good, new and innovative games never get heard of because their developers get stomped on by the gaming giant that is EA.
Oh and I also hate EA cuz they wont bring back the Road Rash series...
Steam works at my uni.. UoB FTW. I explained why most unis don't allow it and what valve need to do for them to allow it in the recent thread about whether you like Steam or not, and I've emailed valve as well, but no joy.kupoartist said:Bah. The 24th is like the first week of Uni term. So i'll not be getting Aftermath until 2 and a half months later than everyone else.
\o/ hoorah for Steam.

Aftermath will be around $20 USD when released.
I think you answered yourself there.JimmehH said:But if that's true then why bother remaking it at all?

The Half-Life 2: Aftermath package by itself will be "around $20," in Lombardi's words, which will most probably turn out to be $19.95 and will come bundled with Half-Life 2: Deathmatch and Half-Life 1 Deathmatch: Source.
