I was watching G-Phoria (Video Game Awards) and there was a preview of Aftermath, it looked freakin sweet. You get to play as Gordon AND Alyx, you get to fight stalkers, and you ride in the back of those combine trains, I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS FREAKIN EXPANSION PACK..... FREAKIN SWEEET

Only large amounts of the word 'SWEEET' can describe this episode.
 
I didn't see it on the web, I saw it on a Video Game awards show, it was just a 30 second preview.
 
I seen it too. Looked pretty damn sweet when the
Stalkers are trying to break out of those pod thingies and their heads are spinning and screeching. sounds spooky.

How does she know what a Stalker is? You where the only 1 that saw a real Stalker in the Citadel (and also in Nova Prospekt).
I just want to know, how does the game continue from when the G-Man froze time? I think this question is on everyone's minds.
How do the Stalkers attack? By screaming at you and hoping you run, when you got a Super Gravity Gun in your hands?

Them coming out of their pods and coming for you like a bunch of zombies reminds me of a few movies I've seen.
 
This was the only reason I put up with the travesty that is G-Phoria. I was like, screw you random celebs that don't know what a "gamer" even is, pointless awards voted on by a populous of mostly "hardcore" Halo 2 fanboys, and stupid, over rehearsed jokes. It was all about those precious moments of Aftermath goodness.

And yes, the game has me pumped. But how you and Alyx survive the Citidel explosion is still anyone's guess. And I want to fight Stalkers!
 
Was that suppose to be GMans voice at the end, cause it didn't sound like it, but it sounded like someone trying to be him. I'll kill myself if its not him....I TiVo'd it so I've watched it many times. (TiVo'd for the Aftermath, and thats it, G4 sucks)
 
A little off-topic, but I wasn't aware that Jenna Haze was a gamers. Im surpriesed she plays the final fantasy series and the psp and some others.....Not that I would even know who Jenna Haze is.... :/
 
Yes, who the hell is Jenna Haze...?, anyways... BACK ON TOPIC! You don't got the super gravity gun, from what I saw, it was the normal orange coloured one, how it went back to normal, I don't know
 
Saw it, looks awesome. The stalkers look scary, like walking mummified corpses. I believe Alyx says "I hope they don't remember who they were." You can spawn a Stalker in game by enabling cheats and trying the give npc_stalker command, but it will crash your game if you attack it.
 
I'm wondering what G-Man's problem was at the end of the preview. Unless that isn't in the game...but he said something like "We'll see about THAT." He seemed a bit angry...

So do you play as Alyx or not? I don't like the concept of changing characters mid-game. And I don't see how they'll make the switch without cutscenes.

This trailer is freaking AMAZING! It just really hyped me up for this game. The Stalkers look bad ass, and the G-Man sounds like he's pissed at something at the end. I can't wait to see more!

nope others know what a stalker is, if u hit the USE key on some rebel citizens when ur fighting with them, they say somethign like "they'll never turn me into a stalker"

I' pretty sure that was the G-Man at the end, but maybe just a rushed take to get something cool sounding in the trailer.

Also, the animation of Alyx standing on the antlion's head and shooting it was the only bad part of the trailer, because the animation was really choppy and unrefined. But I'm sure that's because it's a really early draft they decided to stick in there at the last minute. I know the VALVe animators can do amazing things.

My guess at why the G-Man is upset is because Alyx turns down an offer the G-Man gives her. I don't think Gordon pissed him off because how can you really do anything to the G-Man? Unless it's part of the new interactions Valve is talking about..

The voice at the end didn't sound like G-Man at all. That voice reminds me the advertisements of other movies in the cinema :|

The video is amazing. Or, rather, Aftermath is. Valve has done it again!


By the way, that voice is definitely G-Man's. Turn up the volume, and the beginning of the sentence is G-Man's tone for sure!

We're not returning to Nova Prospekt because it has been destroyed, not much to do there. We're taking a train out of the Citadel with lots of Stalkers in it.

but then something is different about him, cuz thats TOTALLY not the same voice as the g man in HL2, not even close, go back and listen to his voice in the game, then watch the trailer.
 
I have to admit, i thought i'd never be excited about anything to do with HL2 again, but that trailer makes Aftermath look very ****in sweet.

We don't return to Prospekt. That train was in the Citadel.

Its the same voice, very easy to tell.(Gman)

I think you need to do that, my friend. It's a bit hard to reocgnize just because he never uses that tone of voice. He says the words We'll see in his usual tone (turn up the speakers, because he says it rather silently), and then raises his voice, and in a tone he has never spoke before, says about THAT!. Definitely G-Man. I'm more than certain about this one. We'll see about THAT in Aftermath, won't we? ;)
 
From the trailer it sounds as if the G-Man is angry. Obviously he doesn't always get his own way!

Wow, Alyx was certainly badass in the teaser.

I don't care that you don't play as her.
In fact...I'm GLAD.
Seeing as she's a talkative character...
And Valve has a thing going with the HL series... That every character you play as throughout the games, You're that character.
Hearing a voice from that character would just kill that feeling.
