Age of Empires 3 In The Works?

Cool, the second was one of the first pc games I ever played :D

Anyone remember the hopilites... god I loved those little guys... :LOL:



Oh and I still enjoy looseing to my mates at AOE2... some of them are very very good at it..

Either that or i am insanely bad at it. :O :p
 
Age of empires 2 MP deathmatch, that was just heaven :p

So cool to play that, in forest for example, make new routs in the forest by cutting trees..surprise the enemy :)

It will be 3d so all the aoe fans who dont have a good comp as they only need to run 2d games on it will have to go out and fork out tons. That seems to be the current trend "Monkey Island? 2d?? What no, we cant possabley make it like the old ones, make it 3d and really hard to controll" or.... "Roller coster 3 in 2d? Nah lets use 3d so it runs like shit on Ritz's comp!" *grumble*
 
all i hope is that it doesnt turn into Age of Mythology :x

I loved Age of Empires. Once I played the first one with my cousin over a modem. It was fun... me and him against three or four computer players. We ended up cheating :D. And I used to obsess over that game and think up 'strategies' before I fell asleep... seriously :eek:. Ahh... those were good times.
 
AoE rocks..!! Wonder which era it will be played in now....

It is certain that from February of this year it has been rumored much on the intentions of Microsoft as far as on sale removing to a new version from the popular Age game of Empires, game that so many economic benefits has reported Microsoft.

The rumors are confirmed. Microsoft will send to Age of Empires III, that will be called Age of Discovery and will deal with about the exploration and epoca of the discovery.

t used the same motor of AoE and will have near 50 scenes of campaign, covering a series with historicas facts, reason why it will be based on real historical facts. It is rumored that Ensemble Studies glides to remove to a new continuation from the Age of Empires, for the Winter of the 2005. The only thing that knows is that they would have the graphs 3D, similar to those of the Age of Mythology... The head of Division of Microsoft PC, Stuart Moulder, said that to Ensemble this designing another game of type AGE OF EMPIRES. It will have historica base, in form opposed to sent AGE OF MITHOLOGY, which includes elements of fantasia. The characteristics of AGE III have not even been decided, although Moulder said that to Age of Discovery tendria its ships maritimas, it conquers of new worlds, and abundant men with firearms.

Lovely. Hope they don't screw up the transition to 3D (if they're planning on it... haven't seen a good 2D game in too long).
