AGP 4x and 8x?

Is there any difference between the two? If there is, what is itand would you notice any difference?

You'd be hard pressed to notice a difference.
1-2 FPS at most, if even.

8x allows for cards to use more bandwidth, however, AGP cards are barely using 4x (hence the difference between 4x and 8x being minimal). If you're running at 4x, don't worry about running at 8x (unless your current mobo supports it).

THat what I thought barely any difference but Im having a disagreement witha friend about it. Any proof, benchies or a technical explanation?

Anyhow, as for a technical explanation, it doesn't get much more complex than AGP cards currently don't use as much bandwidth as 8x offers. 4x even if lucky, such is why there's really no performance difference.
